I had a pervasive and very aggravating problem with my HP laptop display screen resolution setting going from the recommended 1366 x 768 to 640 x 480. Required for a temporary fix to open in Windows 7 Professional the Control Panel (CP), then selecting the DISPLAY function/item. Moving the scroll lever setting to move up from 640 x 480, to the top selection of 1366 x 768 (recommended). Then selecting APPLY at the bottom of the change screen. Even though the system asks if you want to save the setting, it went back to 640 x 480 every time I brought-up Google’s CHROME, and when other programs, etc. started. It was various vendors products and programs, not a specific one causing the reset of the display resolution back to 640 x 480 I could ascertain. pain in the A _ S

The other entries concerning this problem did not indicate a certain app like CHROME, but some program in the START menu. But I was not starting Windows again when it occurred, just CHROME.

The “fix” or it stopped after deleting all new, by date, the bundled program offering in the CP Programs and Features that came bundled with the reinstall of Googles CHROME (like SweetPacks, and Supreme Savings – why Google allows this is wrong). It may have been something provided by Conduit, Inc. Who cares, aggravation gone!
