Hi There, Protectstand took over my computer last week. I successfully and painlessly removed it using a trial, (and initially free),Grisoft anti-spyware program. Hope this helps if your still suffering.
Who would be the proper authorities to report to? I cannot get this crap off my computer!
Hi Jim, you can report them to the hosting company where it is hosted but that will not get the crap off your computer. They will just remove the website.
Have you tried the removal procedure of SmitFraudFix by SiRi (http://www.precisesecurity.com/blogs/2007/06/20/smitfraud-removal-by-siri/)? If it doest work, I suggest you post a HJT log files on bleepingcomputer.com, or computing.net. They have support people that may help analyze your system.
