Another fake Windows Security Alert are spreading which maybe hard to detect by a common antivirus software because this trojan, called Trojan.Virantix.B uses rootkit techniques to hide itself from security programs. This trojan also disables Windows tools like Control Panel, Registry Editor, Run and Task Manager.
The said alert will prompt user about a spyware operation on the computer and will advised them to download the removal tool. The message will appear in different forms and languages as follows:

so how do I get rid of it?
Yeah how do you get rid of it? Mine only pops up when i’m plugged into the internet.
Yeah, I got me one of those. Vicious. Yep, took away control panel, task manager access, won’t let me disable net… gotta unplug net cable. I have a track of where I got it but its gonna take some time to pin down the source. It got my test disk so no big, but any help would be great from anyone except those stupid FREE VIRUS SCAN bait companies (May they lose their servers to one of these and rot in virus hell.).
I GOT THIS ANNOYING VIRUS. HOW DO I GET RID OF IT?
How to remove MALWARE
Please follow carefully these procedure for MALWARE removal.
1. Download Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware (mbam-setup.exe) and save it on your Desktop.
2. After downloading, double-click on mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
3. Follow the prompts and install as “default” only
4. Before the installation completes, check on the following prompts:
- Update Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware
- Launch Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware
5. Click “Finish.” Program will run automatically and you will be prompt to update the program before doing a scan. Please update.
6. Scan your computer thoroughly.
7. When scanning is finished click on the “Show Results”
8. Make sure that all detected threats are marked, click on Remove Selected.
9. Restart your computer.
Note: MALWARE may prevent mbam-setup.exe from downloading and running. You can download and rename this program from a different computer before running it on infected system.
I have AVG & Stopzilla. Will those programs interfer with Malwarebytes?
Malwarebytes does not work – this virus disables it immediately and it will not scan.
I have got same virus.thanks for this valuable information.
brad i had same issue my friend told me to run it in safe mode and so far so good.
