Total Secure 2009 is considered as a fake security application capable of installing itself on computers who visited its own malicious websites. It was also known that a Trojan can embed this malware on computers without being detected by antivirus program. Total Secure 2009 can block infected computer’s Internet access and reduce security settings.
This unwanted program cannot be easily removed and no entry was available on Windows Add/Remove programs. Thanks.. I didn’t know how to get rid of it, I almost gave up :)
I’m performing the scan now..and waiting for the result..
sarah did it work???? this thing is soooooo annoying it pops up n prevents any page i opend from loading…i wanna jus screeeeaaaaaaaaaaammmmmmmm
Yes it really works, thanks it´s has been really helpfull!
At first I was sceptical about this process, however I used a separate computer, downloaded this program to a memory stick and attached it to the infected computer. I ran the program and sure enough, it removed the pirate software. You can’t download this onto the infected computer as the virus blocks windows from doing anything, or it slows it down immensely. So I suggest going to a safe computer. Once complete view the log file and ensure that the files have been deleted upon restart. When you restart the computer, go back into the program and delete the quarenteened files, this will remove them completely from the computer and should not cause any further problems. Hope this helps someone else….
I updated malwarebytes and ran it, deleted the items found and deleted them from quarantine as well but I still have the Total Secure pop-ups. The current version I have is 9-29-2008 so I am stumped since I had the blue screen virus alert a few months ago and it took care of the problem.
Any ideas or suggestions?
that goddamn popup that ruins my system from that website (sc.videofreeforonline.com)
I cant even system restore. damn stupid malware or spyware is driving me nuts! I cant access my drives and whenever I run My Computer, it errs!
this saves me! Thanks alot Guys! May God Bless U!!!
I updated malwarebytes and ran it, deleted the items found and deleted them from quarantine as well . It got rid of total-secure 2009 but I still have the trojan hijacker sc.videofreeforonline.com pop-ups. I’ve tried the FixIEdef repair, Hijack this software, and have Spybot search and destroy. I still have not found a solution to the pop-ups. Has anyone found a solution? MBAM finds the false positive as Windows/k.txt but can’t find the cause.
THANK YOU! I turned off System Restore in XP and scanned my system in Safe Mode using SuperAntiSpyware, Ad-Aware, Spybot S&D, NoAdware, and Symantec EndPoint Protection. Nothing even detected the application. The only thing that came close was EndPoint - it at least told me I was being infected when it occurred, but did nothing to stop it. After installing Malwarebytes, I downloaded the latest updates, restarted the laptop in Safe Mode and did a full scan. It detected the threat and I was able to remove it. Once the removal was complete, I deleted the Quarantine files and viola! System is running perfectly again and there are no more pop-ups. I appreciate the help. Thanks.
I tried Spybot search & destroy, it detected and removed some trojans but did nothing to Total Secure 2009!. I tried AVG antivirus, it removed some viruses but still didn’t remove TS2k9! I searched for info, was told to get Spy doctor, used that and removed the trojans, seemed to help a little but still the same problems!!!! Now I tried this software and it worked, I think! I don’t see any more popups, or the “VIRUS ALERT” in the taskbar corner and I can access my control panels and such. I deleted all the TS2k9 folder and anything else I could find but the problem I have is that I’m missing certain shortcut icons from my desktop that occured from the time of being infected. How can I retrieve them? I don’t remember what they were! Would System restore work?
hi
i also got affected by this malware called total secure 2009. i used malwarebytes and i think it has cleaned the system. but the problem is that my wallpaper is not showing up any more and a white screen is displayed. although all the icons in the desktop are working. right clicking on properties and changing the desktop wallpaper doesnt work either. and also my laptop has become a little slow after this in the sense that it takes a bit more time to open up the various windows when in fact cpu as well as ram utilization are showing way below the maximum mark…
also total secure 2009 keeps coming back….the first time it was detected, i formatted my system….but it came back again…could it be possible that some software has this malware in it or my data has got this malware…..but i couldnt find any such thing in my data as well as software because i checked them with both malwarebytes and my antivirus(eset nod32)
please reply soon…i desperately need to fin a solutuon for this….
