Antivirus 2010 is rogue computer security program that promotes itself as a required software that will remove detected threats and keep computers protected from the latest viruses and hackers attack. Antivirus 2010 implies fake scanning and detection method to mislead users into buying this unnecessary program that can do nothing but to advertise itself on continuous pop-up alerts and warning messages. Fake online AV web sites are also being utilized to promote this unwanted application. Developers of Antivirus 2010 are using several web sites that will automatically scan visitors computer but then again, a fabricated virus scan will be presented. This scan will show how computer is badly infected even though it was free of threats – a scare tactics commonly used to force users into obtaining the licensed version of Antivirus 2010.

Ignore Antivirus 2010 and all of warnings, pop-up alerts, web site and links it will demonstrate. Clicking on any of these will point an Internet browser to open a malicious web page. This can harm a computer when it begins to download a copy of Antivirus 2010 and install without users permission. Remove Antivirus 2010 virus with only efficient anti-malware program.  It is also advised to install security programs with real-time scanning to avoid future attacks.

    1. Download Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware (mbam-setup.exe) and save it on your Desktop.
    2. After downloading, double-click on mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
    3. Follow the prompts and install as “default” only
    4. Before the installation completes, check on the following prompts:
    - Update Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware
    - Launch Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware
    5. Click “Finish.” Program will run automatically and you will be prompt to update the program before doing a scan. Please update.
    6. Scan your computer thoroughly.
    7. When scanning is finished click on the “Show Results”
    8. Make sure that all detected threats are marked, click on Remove Selected.
    9. Restart your computer.

    Note: Antivirus 2010 may prevent mbam-setup.exe from downloading and running. You can download and rename this program from a different computer before running it on infected system.

    you can delete the AV2020 file but first you have to stop it from running. Do control alt delete to open your windows task manager. Then go to processes. That is where you will find all applications that are running on your computer.Find the file AV210.exe and click on End process. You will get a warning that it is dangerous to stop this from running but go ahead it’s not.Now that the process is not running you can do a search on the file AV2010.exe. Once youve found the file you can now delete it. Remember you have to stop the program from running before you can delete it

    do a search for microsoft windows malware removal tool..download the tool and it will detect and remove it for you for free..it worked on mine..and it got rid of another virus i didnt even know i had..so it works awesome..its completely free and is from microsofts official website so you know its not a scam..

    Hi I had this virus recently and have managed to remove it, but now my p.c wont connect to the internet, hubby seems to thiink it has something to with the firewall settings, he said there are 3 ports that are conncted to the firewall settings that appear to have been changed and we cant work out how to change them back , almost like the virus has changed something!! Can anyone help !!

    It has a habit of adding or changing the default gateway for the network adapter. Go to the tcp/ip properties if the adapter and click on advanced. remove the gateway entry if there is one.

    Problems with IE: Go START > RUN (type in regedit and hit enter) look for:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Clients\StartMenuInternet\IEXPLORE.EXE\shell\open\command
    Right click on Default, click Modify. Remove:
    “C:\\Documents and Settings\\\\Local Settings\\Application Data\\av.exe\” /START \
    Leave:
    “C:\\Program Files\\Internet Explorer\\IEXPLORE.EXE\”

    If you can’t start any programs from desk top links or start menu the .exe shell open command may be broken. Download and run FixExe.reg: hxxp://download.bleepingcomputer.com/reg/FixExe.reg

    I had a virus (Anti-virus 2010) that was in completely different locations and aliases. Be careful, i think this virus has been updated. It took me 4 hours to get rid of it as i combed the registry.

    IMPORTANT UPDATE

    Got infected with the new version of it. It blocked my task manager, no control panel access, it installed 3 softwares shortcuts on my desktop. After the first restart attempting to remove it I could not log into any of my users, could not use safe mode, safe mode with networking would restart the virus. Had to backup the HD on a diferent machine and then format.

    Add to the sysptoms all the above:

    This virus infected my computer for the THIRD time. Every time, I was using McAffee. Every time I got the virus, it prevented mbam from running. If you don’t want this virus, USE NORTON…DON’T USE MCAFFEE.
