tried everything listed, but to no avail. i can acess most web sites but can’t get to facebook. could the problem be that i’m running vista? any help is greatly appreciated.
Antoine, I have added instructions to clean the Windows Hosts File, just follow it.
Hi
I have same problem and cant access sites without the redirection to the false Microsft site. After following your instructions have not got c:\windows\system32\explorer.exe listed in the run file.
Any help would be great.
TY TY TY its gone now….i hope…dont see the messages anymore..pff…after i did my mallware cleaning and the temperory files and the rebooting it was gone…
im working with 32b vista btw and works fine…the explerer.exe couldnt find it though
greetz me
Thank You…..excellent advice.
I couldn’t find ‘explorer.exe’ after running the system scan, but the process has worked, back to normal after rebooting my PC.
Cheers
I have the “You will be dead next month” message, and redirection to the rogue Microsoft Security Centre. I have tried loading the Malwarebytes program, but after a few seconds I get a message saying the source file is corrupted and cannot install it. The same happens with any other spyware remover I try to install. Are these being hijacked by the Trenderdia trojan to prevent it’s removal? If so how do I get Malwarebytes onto my computer?
I should have said that as I can’t access the internet from the infected computer I am downloading the mbam-setup.exe file from another computer onto a memory stick and then transferring it onto the computer with the problem. I then can’t run the program as reported above. Is there an issue with transferring in this way?
if your having trouble finding “explorer.exe” just star/search “explorer” w/o quotes and no .exe. the icon (for me) was a stack of books. drag and drop to the desktop and delete it. should stop the “you will dead next month” popups. however you will need to use malware to remove the virus
malware+clean host file= my comuter works again!!!:)
Thank you all for the help. Cleaned out every file in my host file area on vista after installing the Malarebytes from a flash drive. Rebooted and works fine. This is not a fun thing to get rid of. Thank you all soooo much.
you need to reboot. That will work
how do you clean files from host file in vista
i do all this, and that works fine and dandy, but no websites run by google work. that means no accessing the google homepage, myspace or youtube. is there anything to help with that?
you have to clean your host file.
dam I’ve done all of what has been said there but i’ve still got the page
Ps whats the host file?
Wait! Scratch that last! got it fixed
i did every thing manually so i missed going to recycle bin and empting it
What is “Winrar” and how do I identify it? Don’t see it in uninstall program list.
Hello i received 2 days ago an virus ( trenderdia ) but i couldn’t remove! so i disabled, the file i delete winrar file but the explore.exe still there! how can i remove this virus for good please. many thanks
Paulo
To remove in vista, i just run that antimalware, it found it and removed it, but it was still going to “microsoft” site. To fix it, you need to clear hosts, but this is difficult in vista, so do this, its legit: http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hostsvista.htm
