Has this been proven to eliminate this virus?
sorry my english bad. i have tried mbam and update it then running full scan. not working. virus still there. then i reinstall windows using cd recovery in order to my pc like first i buy it (factory) just on drive c: and not touching other drive. what happen? the virus still exist. now i trying window malicious software removal tool. it found the virus and seem can fix the problem. but it is not done in just one full scan, i have to rescan again and again. the newest scan will found less virus than last scan and so on (first scan found +/- 2500 virus, and now the third scan found 15 virus). i hope this is the last scan, i am very sleepy… but when browsing i found avg virut removal tool. may be it is my last effort, before full format my pc like people say “virut just can be fixed by re format your pc and doing fresh install” oh god..
I have the Virut.BM, and i have re formatted my entire cimputer twice now, i am trying malwarebytes now, and then if that doesnt work…i will try the windows tool, and then avg…lets hope there is someway…i accidentally contracted this to my moms desktop…and she is mad.
try clearing your CMOS / Flash memory directly after removal takes place. be sure to perform a complete shutdown. Then follow what ever steps there are for clearing the CMOS on your system. I’ve read that it worked for others. Apparently if your machine just reboots and doesn’t do a complete shutdown, the virus will reside in RAM and wait for Win to come back up and infect it again. Nasty bug for sure.
