Total Security is a fake antivirus application relased by the same developers who created Antivirus 360. It utilizes similar Graphical User Interface (GUI) and techniques to deceive computer users into buying the said rogue program. Total Security can be downloaded onto computers by just visiting malicious websites that pretend as a legitimate security homepage with free online virus scanner. An associated Trojan is also assisting this malware to spread and infect computers globally.
Once infected, Total Security shows its symptoms by issuing fake alert messages and fabricated virus scan results. This was done to misinform computer users and hope that they will be guided to buy the rogue program. Total Security removal tool is provided on this page in the presence of MBAM. After installation, please update before scanning the computer.

reboot safemode with networking download and follow the above listed steps
There is another way to remove Total Security. Call your antivirus customer service number and tell them this thing is holding your computer hostage-that is what it does. They will unlock this nasty program from your antivirus and it will go away. Then download Malwarebytes, update the signatures and do a comprehensive scan. It will work, believe me.
Since I do this almost week day, I have a registered copy of Activeboot on both a USB Thumb drive and a CD
I also have stand alone scanner installed on these to device and when you do boot of activeBoot you can plug in a usb drive and run stand alone scanners, like Malwarebytes, Clamware or VipreRescue.
I do not have to worry about the Abuse software stopping the AntiMalware from running.
The best thing to do when this piece of spyware 1st popup, is do nothing but, CTRL+ALT+DeL and kill the Browser that is running.
Open up control panel and find the internet setting and in the cache size tab, move the cache folder to someplace like C:\ , this will completely flush the internet cache, I also run Ccleaner after that.
With Ccleaner you can open tools and see if anything new has appeared in the startup list.
If you AntiVirus is up to date, reboot your machine and run a can
The trick is not to in anyway shape or form click on the pop up, this is a knee jurk reaction that I am working on with my clients to stop and read what popped up.
Also unplug you network cable ASAP, break the connection to the outside world while you work on this problem

i am very unhappy.
combofix is the only thing I have seen that removes it. download.com has this file. Malware Bytes is also suppose to remove but it would not on a couple of our computers.

the whole total security lifetime package is a scam! they got your credit card information, so if i were you, call your bank and let them know what happened.
your solution for total security
install revo uninstaller, get it from download.com, run uninstaller in advance mode and follow the prompts, select all files as per screen, uninstall and reboot. Install avira / update, get it from download.com and run full scan, avira will pick up the trojan. Go to program files on your c drive and delete the TS folder, if this folder is locked boot in safe mode F8 and delete the folder.
I got rid of this yesterday! Go to malware bytes.org. When you try to download the virus will try and block it accompanied by a flashing bar at the top of the window. Simply go to the middle of the page where it will say ” if your having trouble downloading click here” and click there. This should let the download go through. Once you install malwarebytes anitmalware, it should fing the virus and remove it. This worked on my computer, so hopefully it will help you.
