PAV is not a reputable AV program. Instead it appears to be a fraud that does NOT ACTUALLY SCAN your computer when it says you have ‘trojans’. To remove it follow the instructions below.
1. download sysinternals “process explorer” from the microsoft website
2. run “process explorer” and kill process “pav.exe”.
3. delete the “PAV” folder from c:program files.
4. download sysinternals “autoruns” from the microsoft website
5. run “autoruns” and open the “internet explorer” tab.
6. select the entry for ‘winexplorer.dll’ and delete the key.
7. reboot your machine
8. navigate to “c:windowssystem32″ and delete the “winexplorer.dll”
you should now be clear of the PAV malicious program.
I get to step six and it doesnt let me, it says access is denied. How can i get past this?
@Keith Schmidt: Un-register the .DLL (”Step 5.995″) file prior to deleting it.

For step 6 run “Autoruns” as administrator by right clicking it and it will let you delete
What if the virus has now locked me out of the internet? I can’t get to the Microsoft website to follow the steps.
KILLBOX.net! enter a search for PAV and it kills it dead!
Thank you LiLi.. Killbox.net was the answer to my prayers here at the office. Got rid of PAV virus in a zap!
I have a variant on my mates system in a PersonalAV folder and no winexplorer.dll and so I’m not sure if it will still operate quietly. Also, Does it need javascript, activex or something to install as prevention is better than a cure?
Any Response?
