my laptop (windows XP) is infected with Police Pro. While attempting to start up the computer in safe mode by using F8 I could only get a black screen I shut down the computer using the power button and restarted it normal. This time I selected Start, Run and typed in MSCONFIG from there went to the BOOT.INI tab and selected safe boot clicked ok and for 30 minutes nothing but BLACK screen. Shut down computer using the power button and powered it back up still BLACK screen. Big Problem is that now I have a BLACK screen and no way (that I know of) to get back to where I can power up the computer normal to get to my desktop.
This is a Dell laptop with Windows XP.
