Ad-Ware Pro
Ad-Ware Pro also known as Adware Pro is a fake antivirus program that will only produce fake scan results and misleading alerts. Ad-Ware Pro commonly penetrate a computer without users consent by means of another Trojan that will take advantage of software weaknesses and security exploits on the computer. This unwanted application was discovered as part of fraudulent activities from the same authors who distributed AntiMwalre Pro. They created and spread this malicious program to gain a revenue from illegal online activities.
Typical symptoms after being infected by Ad-Ware Pro includes browser hijacking where-in any Google search results will be redirected to their own infected web sites. This rogue application is capable of disabling any installed ant-virus program to be sure that it cannot be easily detected and removed. When users attempt to manually remove Ad-Ware Pro, they may experience complex procedures because most of the Windows functionalities were disabled by the rogue program. Only solution left to get rid of this unwanted application is by scanning the computer with anti-malware application – only the trusted and legitimate ones.

I bought AdWare Pro in March 2010 and paid $49.85 for the license including lifetime software upgrades and Windows Cleaner. Based on the above, I guess I got screwed. Anyway to recover the amount paid? What is a reputable alternative for ridding my computer of unwanted ad/spy stuff? Thanks.
