Privacy Corrector is another fake Windows privacy and security program. It is also called PrivacyCorrector virus because it can install itself and penetrate a computer without users approval. A Trojan associated with this fake program is also created in the purpose of redirecting Internet browser to fake security web sites that hosts the installation files of Privacy Corrector. When installed on the computer, it will pretend to be a useful application and immediately run a diagnostic of the computer. It will find a number of problems like viruses, system errors and registry errors. This untrusted application also endorse itself as a multiple tools that has functions of system security, system utilities, media tools, privacy and Internet security package in just one program. Though it has various techniques to deceive its victims, at the end of the day, Privacy Corrector still remains a rogue program that must be remove from your system.

Manual Removal:
1. Stop Privacy Corrector process by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del. Windows Task Manager will open. Look for the following process:

2. Update your installed anti-virus program.
3. Run a full system scan and clean/delete all detected infected file(s). A manual removal of virus-related files should also be performed.
4. Edit Windows registry and delete Privacy Corrector entries. [how to edit registry]
5. Exit registry editor.
6. Remove Privacy Corrector start-up entry by going to Start > Run, type msconfig on the “Open” dialog box. System Configuration Utility will open. Go to Startup tab and uncheck the following Startup item(s):
PrivacyCorrector.exe

7. Click Apply and restart Windows.
