SoftSafeness is a successor to SafetyKeeper, these are variants of the programs coming from the authors who also made a duplicate and changes only the name. Applications such as these can manipulate system security status by disabling legit antivirus application and run its own. SoftSafeness will scan computer and end up reporting dozens of threats found on computer. It will also offer a solution to remove the said threats but users must have a registered version of the program first.
Just like older members of the family, this malware has been present on computer without the proper authority from the owner when a bunch of Trojan dropped and installed it. Removing SoftSafeness may be difficult since no know removal components was available during the installation.
