SystemVeteran is a counterfeit computer security solution that will try its best to encourage users to download and install the program by exhibiting a Blue Screen of Death (BSoD) called SystemVeteran – Online Protection. This webpage impersonate as Windows error when in fact it is a web page where users got redirected. From this site, visitors may download rogue program SystemVeteran unknowingly thinking that the software offered to fix the displayed error is useful and permissible.
Presence of SystemVeteran may bring various irregularities on computer operation. It can disable Windows functionalities such as Task Manager, Registry Editor, Control Panel and Folder Options. SystemVeteran can also end security-related process that makes it hard for the users to detect and remove it using the installed antivirus application. 1. Download Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware (mbam-setup.exe) and save it on your Desktop.
2. After downloading, double-click on mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
3. Follow the prompts and install as “default” only
4. Before the installation completes, check on the following prompts:
- Update Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware
- Launch Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware
5. Click “Finish.” Program will run automatically and you will be prompt to update the program before doing a scan. Please update.
6. Scan your computer thoroughly.
7. When scanning is finished click on the “Show Results”
8. Make sure that all detected threats are marked, click on Remove Selected.
9. Restart your computer.
Note: SystemVeteran may prevent mbam-setup.exe from downloading and running. You can download and rename this program from a different computer before running it on infected system.
