find the av.exe file in task manager. end process on it. Then find the av.exe file on your hard drive with search (make sure you are searching hidden files). delete the av.exe file copy any txt file to the same directory and rename it to av.exe and remove all permissions from it so it can’t be alter or over written. this stops the program in it tracks. go into regedit search all av.exe adn delete the av.exe entry only not the root key it is in. then go to file types and add exe back as open type application so you can run exe files again. this worked perfect for me. then use malwarebytes to scan your pc adn kill it.

I got this one yesterday, and it was actually very easy to remove. Using another computer, download Spybot: Search and Destroy, and Malwarebytes. Install and run both of them on the infected computer, and after restart, the supposed Antispware will be gone!

I’m having a major issue, I’ve downloaded the MalwareBytes program, but whenever I try and run it, XP AntiSpyWare closes it. I ended the ave.exe process through task manager, and tried to the installation file again, and to my surprise, after I click run, ave.exe just opens up again, and the setup does not start. Anyone else have this issue? Any thoughts? Would Spybot work? I also tried using Spyware Doctor, but to my dismay, I found that it is not free.

If xpantispyware 2010 will not let malwarebytes run, go to C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware\ rename mbam.exe to mbam.com, this will allow you to run it without xpantispyware being able to shut it down.

Mommy told me she had a virus so I told her: Get an antivirus. Whoops! I’m currently trying to remove it, but what happens if she’s already paid 80 dollars for it? Has anyone heard stories of identity theft? or any stories of miraculously being able to get their money back? Should she just get a new credit card number? LET ME KNOW ASAP

Microsoft Security Essentials (download on their main site)
Picked it up after a quick scan, although the damn thing was already spamming me with supposed viruses (while in truth it was the only one)
After choosing “Clean Computer” I was able to remove it and gained access to all my files (Just beforehand I was disallowed, which means it’s more sinister than they say) and I didn’t even need to restart the computer.
Although I’m going to test the applications and such for damage, none so far, in truth I was only infected by it 10 minutes ago.
Hope that help’s, and there’s no better way in my opinion to remove these sorts of files than to go straight to the most trusted anti-virus source: Microsoft themselves.
