Once the Mbed virus attacks your computer, you can no longer access your files. It encrypts your data with the strongest encryption and unique key. Then it alters the name of encrypted file by affixing .med extension. Right after the encryption process, a ransom note will appear on your Windows desktop.

Malware author sends the message to the victim via a text file called _readme.txt. It contains details about what happened to your files and how to restore it. Mbed virus states that all your files were encrypted. The only way to recover it is by paying the ransom. The amount depends on how fast you send an email to the cybercriminals. If you contact online crook within 72 hours, the ransom amount is only $490. After the time limit, you have to pay $980 in exchange for decryption software.

The most important thing to do if Mbed ransomware strikes your computer is to remove it. To restore your files, you can only retrieve it through your data backup. Take note that paying the ransom is not an option. Thus, it is highly suggested to back up your files at all times.
